Southlake, Texas – Local State Representative Vicki Truitt (R-Keller) won a friendly wager with Katy’s State Representative Bill Callegari (R-Katy), and as a result, Rep. Callegari will have to wear a Carroll Southlake jersey on the floor of the House the next time the Texas Legislature convenes.

Truitt described, “This rivalry really took off two years ago when the Katy Tigers defeated the Southlake Carroll Dragons by a single point during the state championship game.  I rubbed it in last year, when Carroll won the Class 5A, Division II state championship.  We spoke last Friday, and agreed that depending upon which team won the championship, the other team’s state representative would have to wear the winning team’s jersey – in a very public way.”

After watching the highly competitive game last Saturday, the two spoke on the phone and congratulated each other for a hard fought contest and agreed that the play of both teams was outstanding.

“We’re both very proud of our respective teams, their coaches, and the parents and fans who cheer them on.  The Southlake Carroll Dragons exemplify the meaning of “team.”  I and almost everyone in Southlake are swollen with hometown pride,” stated Rep. Truitt.
