 Representative Truitt Appointed to Chair Key House Committee

Austin--February 12, 2009-- Texas House Speaker Straus today announced the appointment of Representative Vicki Truitt as Chair of the House  Committee on Pensions, Investments and Financial Services. Speaker Straus stated, "When I was elected Speaker of the House, I committed to create an environment where members could operate fairly and allow them to bring their best talent forward to confront the difficult challenges facing our state. In selecting Representative Truitt as committee chair, I considered her wisdom, experience and proven ability to provide new, dynamic leadership and offer fresh ideas.
